To apply for any of the following positions, please do the following:
1. Forward your resume and cover letter by email to jobs@soulsister.ca We can accept documents only in .doc and .pdf formats. If you cannot send in either of these formats, you may paste your information into the body of an email, or fax your application to (250) 754-7099. No phone calls please.
2. In your cover letter, tell us specifically which position(s) you're applying for and why you think you'd be a good fit. Please include at least two references.
3. Set your email program to allow email from the soulsister.ca domain so you will receive any further contact from us.
Make sure to add our domain, soulsister.ca to your safelist, whitelist or address book (see below) to ensure you receive our emails. Otherwise your server may automatically send our email to your junk folder. If you're not sure how to do this, just check with your internet provider for easy instructions.
We provide childminding to our members on an "as needed" basis, so we're always looking for qualified childminders who are interested in trading occasional hours for classes.
Qualifications: Previous experience in child care. A first aid certificate, though not required, is an asset. You must genuinely enjoy children, and be comfortable caring for infants up to school age. Must be able and willing to return calls/emails promptly.
Hours & Remuneration: Hours are varied and very flexible. ***This is a volunteer position in trade for classes. You will earn one hour of drop in class time for each hour you work in our childminding room. An excellent opportunity for students!
We are always looking for fun, friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic front desk staff to join our team. Duties include responding to telephone and walk in enquiries, handling cash, assisting customers in our boutique, class and workshop registrations, keeping the studio neat, clean & tidy, class check ins, and a host of other jobs large and small. Our front desk is never boring!
Qualifications: You must have computer experience and learn new software quickly. Previous experience in customer service and/or reception would be helpful, but a positive attitude, good people skills, and enthusiasm for the Soul Sister concept are much more important. We need people who are responsible, reliable, detail-oriented, and able to make a commitment. Hours & Remuneration: 6-8 hours per week, normally in two shifts. ***This is a volunteer position that offers outstanding benefits after a short trial period, including unlimited access to our pole dancing and fitness classes, free and discounted workshops, boutique discounts and other perks.
If you like to make things sparkle and shine, we have just the job for you! We're growing and our studio is getting busier all the time, and of course we want to keep it clean, tidy and inviting for all our members and guests. We're looking for someone who has approximately 3 hours twice a week to come in and handle the cleaning we don't always have time to do on a daily basis. This would include sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, keeping the washrooms and changerooms sparkling clean, and other assorted tasks.
Qualifications: If you like to clean and take satisfaction in a job well done, we will show you everything you need to know to take ownership of this important job. You need to be reliable, dependable, able to work without supervision, and make good independent decisions. We're counting on you to keep our image clean! ; )
Hours & Remuneration: Approximately 6 hours per week, normally in two shifts. ***This is a volunteer position that offers outstanding benefits after a short trial period, including unlimited access to our pole dancing and fitness classes, free and discounted workshops, boutique discounts and other perks.
We're always interested in hearing from fun, enthusiastic dance and fitness instructors who want to join our team as we grow.
Qualifications: Certification or equivalent training and experience preferred, though we also provide a training program and apprenticeship period. You must ooze enthusiasm and passion for teaching as well as dance/fitness, and be able to connect with students, putting their needs first. Excellent teaching skills, as well as technical knowledge, good cueing ability, and in-class safety are our top priorities. The fun factor is huge for our students, so you must also know how to have a great time in class!
